Hillsboro:
Hillsboro is a pleasant, progressive city of 6,368 people, located in southwestern Ohio.  It is the seat of government and center of commerce of Highland County, so named because of its location among the high lands between the Scioto and Little Miami Rivers.
The city was created when the State Legislature appointed a man named David Hayes to select an appropriate county seat site for Highland County.  Hayes chose the Hillsboro area because of its central location within the county.  The first lots were sold in October, 1807, when Hillsboro was still virgin forest.
Hillsboro is served by two U.S. and four State highways.  Six trucking companies provide freight service for the industries of Hillsboro.  These industries manufacture textile and metal products, printed forms, wrapping machines, castings, wood components, construction trusses, electrical components, electrical automotive parts, and motor consulting.
With its wide, tree-lined streets, its excellent schools, its attractive homes and central location with respect to three of Ohio's major cities, Hillsboro is an eminently satisfying place in which to live and work.
