Own your own trailhead into the Perry State ForestWhether you like to Ride ATVs, go horseback riding, fish, hunt or hike, you will enjoy the Perry State Forest. The Perry APV area is the most popular public riding area in Ohio. There are over 16 miles of challenging mapped trails, but Perry is the only state forest in Ohio to allow riders to ride off trail on UDTs (User Developed Trails). This 36.76 acre tract borders the APV area and has easy access to trail 7 (Red Trail). Much of the area was strip mined for coal long ago and never reclaimed, as a result, the rugged landscape provides a great variety in scenery and topography and allows for a great experience for novice and expert riders. There are 8 miles of very scenic bridle trails just down the street if you prefer to ride something without a motor. The forest cover is very diverse and encourages a variety of wildlife species and excellent hunting opportunities.
